Google is having issues crawling the site now that the category data is loaded dynamically. Adding a sitemap with all the available categories should help it crawl the site easier.
Doing it with Preact seemed very difficult as it's not possible to run any JS code from the user so instead I chose the Cloudflare Functions option.
I opted for a cache max age of 1 month as to minimize the CPU time.
