Players on my server often try to speedrun different courses in order to get the best time possible.
Two of them suggested it would be better to split the courses into different sections. In a way this is already done using checkpoints. However, trying to optimise the runtime in specific parkour sections, it would be very helpful to see how your time from checkpoint A to checkpoint B compares against your personal best and/or the course record.
This would be extremely useful when speedrunning a course. Players would be able to see where they perform best and worst, where they need to optimise their time and where the best player cut down their time.
I imagine this feature being implemented as replacing the actionbar timer for a few seconds with the time it took to get through the section (from the last checkpoint to the current one). I visualised this feature below.
Current state:
If a player took longer than their personal best/course record/last run to get though the section:
If a player finished the section quicker than their PB/course record/last run:
