System Details

  • OS: Fedora 40 GNOME 46
  • Thorium Version [128.0.6613.189]

Problem
Thorium Browser won’t open.

Thorium.Browser.mp4

Thorium Shell gives the same response with a prompt.

Did you read the FAQ?
Yes

Additional Notes
I downloaded the file "thorium-browser_128.0.6613.189_AVX.rpm" and installed it using sudo dnf install thorium-browser_128.0.6613.189_AVX.rpm. After installing, I tried to open Thorium browser three times, but it wouldn’t start. I clicked “wait” in Thorium Shell three times, but still nothing happened. Even after restarting my system, it still didn't work.

I also have (probably) the same issue on Fedora with the most recent release, however I'm currently running hyprland. Gnome is installed as well though. Here is the error I get when I try to run from the terminal:

[56933:56933:1025/193126.720913:ERROR:object_proxy.cc(576)] Failed to call method: org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.GetActive: object_path= /org/freedesktop/ScreenSaver: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Unknown method GetActive or interface org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.

Yesterday, I faced a similar problem with the Thorium Browser in Debian's weekly testing on a virtual machine as well.
