I refuse to use Google services on my phone, and use a free software alternative for maps on my Android. Can you please let us choose the map provider?

At the moment I dont' see a possibility. In my programming framework I can only use Google for Android and Apple for iOS. Maybe mapbox works, but I have not Titanium module for it.

Here the link to mapbox (OSM):
https://www.mapbox.com/mapbox-android-sdk/

and here an instruction how to build a Titanium module from a native SDK:
http://www.titaniumtutorial.com/2013/10/android-module-development-part1.html or
https://github.com/appcelerator/titanium_mobile/blob/master/support/module/android/documentation/android_module_dev_guide.md

It would be a big help for the community to build this module. In this case we would avoid GOOGLE.

Tja, ich kenne keine gute Möglichkeit eine Map ohne Google zu bauen, es
sei ich nutze eine Webview und leaflet. Aber das ist eben die HTML5-Hölle.

I don't know if it helps, but there are open source map apps on the F-droid repository using the Openstreetmap maps, you can have a look at their code as well (example: OsmAnd~).

I know this library. But it doesn't run. You can make a pull request.
