Feature request: redshift or similar #127
Comments
We don't want to overbloat the default image, but |
@agajews actually redshift is 0.98 MB I don't think this is bloatware :) |
@agajews and just installed redshift is currently not easily usable for endusers: |
@RubenKelevra I don't think 0.98 on itself is bloatware indeed, but if @agajews were to add a couple 100 of those packages it would easily turn into bloatware. I personally like Apricity because it doesn't try to ship with everything out of the box which keeps it lightweight. For endusers redshift has an extensive documentation on the Arch wiki as does nearly everything you can run into problems with. |
Sure, but something similar to redshift is something the users would expect per default from an OS, like a Browser or a Image viewer. iOS and Android got it out-of-the-box. :) |
I personally don't miss the feature, and it sounds like something I would remove on install; but if you really want it, maybe freezedry from Apricity is something you want |
Actually I don't use my iPad at night because it's the only device which does not support this. This was one of the killerfeatures of iOS 9 to me. :) |
You could try making a custom version of Apricity with Freezedry which includes redshift? I've personally used Freezedry for swapping out some packages and adding some that aren't included by default and it's really easy to configure and work with |
Something like Redshift by default in Apricity would be great, the end user has problems trying to fix the errors that present xflux or redshift. I think it is very helpful to include it. |
Currently no monitor color daemon is shipped with Apricity, but in iOS and many Androids this is part of the OS. So there are a bunch of different versions and I'm not sure which one is recommented, but I would love to see a monitor color shifter daemon in Apricity per default :)
