failing tests on debian 10

on debian 10 buster 64 bit I did :
git clone https://github.com/AtnNn/librethinkdbxx
make works with gcc v 8
make test gives : DONE: 17 of 2295 tests failed
is this expected ?

how could I benchmark roughly query and update speed of a single field in a record ?
