Micro blog feature/layout/category (maybe a different theme entirely?)

This is really, really cool

I could see this being a separate layout setting in section front matter, and then on the homepage adding a nice sliding view of recent micro posts, just like on single pages with recent posts or latest posts.

And I imagine this being more like a blog than a full blown Twitter clone since that's simpler. It also hopefully reduces the amount of hacks required.

So basically just like normal blog posts but shorter? Although then that seems sort of useless. I could just make another blog section and start writing short posts instead. I'll have to find out what my end goal really is.
