Help getting started

I tried posting on the forum but no reply, so I thought I'd try here:
I am planning on building some Gliss's and had a couple of beginner questions which I couldn't seem to find answers for.

I have downloaded all the hardware files, created gerbers to make the boards, so that is ok.
I couldn't find any BOMs. Is the best way to save them out of kicad?

And with the software, are there any premade binaries to flash? or should I compile them? If I need to compile them, any hints on how to get started with that?

(Also, I know the main arm chip needs to be programmed. What about the cap sense chip? does that need programming too?)
