3. Sitrep
The sitrep parameter is an on-the-fly status logger of what you are thinking at that moment. It's a means of keeping track of interesting findings, recognition of a rabbit trail, a quick note about taking a break, or anything else important to you at the time.
This type of stream of conscious logging is helpful for lessons learned after the event ends.
A sitrep can be logged from any location at any time. There's no need to keep the file open as AutoRpt will log with the active engagement. AutoRpt also writes to this log for its own functionality so a coherent timeline of its activity and your own is kept. For example, if a new sitrep is logged now it will appear after the sitrep created by AutoRpt's startup above.

Contents of the log are available for review through three means:
-
autorpt sitrep list
- displays the log and exits AutoRpt - the sitrep menu
- or opening the plaintext file in report/sitrep.log.
