Remove the superscript 1 for single author single affiliation situation

I am trying to use this code:

author: 
- name: Ziyi Li
  affiliation:
  - Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Emory University, Atlanta, GA 30322

to generate my authorship information. However, the superscript 1 always appears no matter what I do:

I feel with this one affiliation situation, this superscript seems unnecessary. Could you help me remove this? Thanks.
