I will submit a DMCA Takedown Notice.

SAMPLE DMCA TAKEDOWN NOTICE TEMPLATE.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
To Whom It May Concern,

The following information serves to assert my rights and request removal of allegedly infringing web content under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). The following is a report, in good faith, of alleged copyright infringement. I am contacting you as the designated agent for the site upon which the infringing work currently appears. This letter is a Notice of Infringement as authorized in §512(c) of the U.S. Copyright Law.

I am the copyright owner of the works and the following is true and accurate.

  1. The original work, for which I claim copyright, appears, with my permission, at the following locations online:

{URLs WHERE YOUR ORIGNAL AUTHORIZED WORK APPEARS}

  1. Copies of my original copyrighted work are {attached/included/provided} to assist you in your evaluation and determination.

  2. The allegedly infringing {work/text/image} appears at the following location(s) online:

{URLs WHERE INFRINGING WORK IS CURRENTLY LOCATED}

  1. My contact information, as copyright holder, is as follows:

{INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION}

  1. The information of the alleged copyright infringer is:

{INSERT WHOIS INFORMATION FOR THE SITE YOU ALLEGE IS INFRINGING}

  1. I have a good faith belief the use of the above reference copyrighted work(s) that appears on the website for which you are the designated DMCA agent is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or by law.

I declare, under penalty of perjury, this notice is true and correct and that I am the copyright owner entitled to exclusive rights which I allege are being infringed.

Signed this ________ day of ______, 20 in {INSERT CITY, STATE, COUNTY}.

{YOUR SIGNATURE/eSIGNATURE}

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Filing a DMCA Takedown does not mean every instance of your copyrighted work will be removed from the internet. You will need to submit a request for all the different locations you find your work. No, that’s not awesome. But it’s how it works.

Finally, keep in mind that the alleged infringer will have access to the information provided in your takedown notice. In addition, the alleged infringer can file a counter-notice, which is basically a reply, stating why the work does not infringe your copyright. If that happens, the work will likely be reposted and you will need to pursue other measures to enforce your copyright.

Oh, look. They're scared! They took the plugin down: http://www.leetforum.cc/topic/23829/functions/5
Also, google "Leet Functions". The second result is what used to be the copied plugin

@MCUnderground I see that you are part of this team, and a leet intern. Please take down the Functions plugin as soon as possible

Spreading the word about Functions

Hello there everybody! Unfortunately, this plugin (Functions) is just one of many copyright infringements of plugins that leet provides. Any further use of the Functions plugin can result in copyright infringement notices, DMCA Takedown Notices, and numerous other legal actions. The plugin was originally made by the BoxOfDevs team (https://github.com/BoxOfDevs/Functions), with the BoxOfDevs Licence which clearly states (https://github.com/BoxOfDevs/Functions/blob/master/LICENSE#L25) that both the user and the author cannot Sell any part of The Software/The Modification for profit. Unfortunately, might I add, This plugin was originally created for the ImagicalMine community forums, where all plugins are redistributed for FREE and at the owner's consent. On leet.cc, however, the plugin is being sold for a profit. This is going against the License. Spread the word.

Submit a DMCA takedown to mcpeservermaker.com too!

Are you sure it's the same plugin?
https://wiki.mcpeservermaker.com/Custom_Commands
Or did they just change "rm" to "rf"?

A plugin called "functions" which has the same commands and that does the same thing is our plugin. And if it's modified, it's distributing any part of the software issue.

It's called "Custom Commands" but they didn't even change the command from /functions to something else xD

Hi,

I'm replying here on behalf of MCPE Server Maker.
We don't use any of the code in this repository, our plugin was merely inspired by yours.

As for Leet, I'm not sure, you'd have to ask them directly.

k3ithos commented Jan 26, 2017

@Renual1337 oh really? and what proof would you have to prove your point?

@remotevase

I'm most certainly going to download the phar for that plugin, then un-phar it at unphar.com, and take a look at the source code. Thank you.

@Renual1337

@keithkfng The fact that I'm staring at my code.

@k3ithos

k3ithos commented Jan 26, 2017

@Renual1337 how is that proof if we can't see it?

@Renual1337
Copy link

What kind of non sense is this? Are you going to tell Google hey show me your search engine code i think you're using mine and then when they tell you it's not you ask for proof?

I'm not sure if you've ever been sued before, but the way it works is that you deliver probable cause and then you get to look at the code by obtaining a subpoena in the jurisdiction of the defendant in our case The Netherlands. So far the only proof you've delivered is that you have absolutely no idea how any legal enforcement works.

Should you feel intrigued to embarrass yourself further feel free to contact our legal team.

k3ithos commented Jan 26, 2017

I don't think you have a legal team if can't even program your own plugin -_-

Ad5001 commented Jan 27, 2017

@Ultie0 Did you know that an experiment was made:
In a game license, at the terms and conditions, they've put "if you call this number, you'll receive $500"
It's only after nine years past the game publication that someone called the number (he got his money). Nobody reads license and terms of conditions. Example: you would have some surprises if you read apple agreements.

@remotevase
Copy link

Actually, I always read the licence, just to be safe. Then, sometimes, I just delete the licence XD

@catgirlinspace
Copy link

I should make it so that the license in my plugins say that I now own your company, then try to make leet use it, and then I would own leet! XD

This honestly seems useless. There is no point in getting all worked up over a plugin.

@nathfreder it wasn't the plugin so we cared about. It was that they were selling our plugin, without even telling us! If they had at least asked/notified/credited us: no worries, but as things were, that was a problem. We tried to talk to them about it (some of us peacefully, some just got mad), asking for at least credit, at best making the plugin free on leet, and basically what they said was "oh we're using a previous version of the plugin that was under a different license to what you've actually got now, so who cares what you want/think".

It’s funny how much we used XD 2 years ago.

If they were using a different license that allowed them to sell it then you can't stop them.
