Working on Template 1.2 PKS 1.5 and cannot DeployFirstCluster-DC1610. #711
Comments
Hi @leoncozzi I assume you are using the clusterReady template which already has one cluster deployed, and if so I think the template may be running up against the maximum size of the limited nested lab environment, we had been able to create a 2nd cluster in earlier versions of the template but only barely as the lab environment is extremely oversubscribed and I think the latest versions of software have a little more overhead which may not leave sufficient capacity for the 2nd cluster. I will look into tuning the lab template to see if some adjustments may help, but we have a hard upper limit on capacity with the nested lab environments. If you would like to create a cluster, I would recommend loading the PKS-Ninja-V12-PksInstalled (v12 has PKS 1.4) or the PKS-Ninja-T1-PksInstalled (PKS 1.6 with EPMC) . Both of these templates have PKS pre-installed, but the cluster has not been deployed yet, so it should definitely have capacity to deploy a cluster. If you need to have multiple clusters running in the same lab environment, that is tough in the nested onecloud templates, there are some templates where it is possible to get 2 very small clusters with minimal running but its not ideal for that use case. |
Thank you Art. Appreciate the detailed response. For some reason the
template i had, has no cluster installed, but i thought it was the cluster
ready one. I am going to delete it and start a new one with the
PKS-Ninja-T1-PksInstalled template and see how it goes.
Thank you.

I am working on Working on Template 1.2 PKS 1.5 and cannot create a cluster whilst following. DeployFirstCluster-DC1610. Cluster creation fails. I have tried to utilise the bosh cli to troubleshoot, but unable to. I logged into opsman, and then ran the export command with the output of BOSH CLI credentials. when i run the bosh events i get /etc/vmware/.pks/id_rsa_om no such file or directory.
I therefore cannot troubleshoot why i cannot create a cluster. Any ideas?
