This page contains a number of short guides for working remotely with the files and applications you have accessible at CYD.

If you are using Linux, BSD and OSX:
$ ssh -X <liu-id>@ssh.cyd.liu.se
If you are using Windows you will have to download a ssh client such as KiTTY or MobaXterm.
If you have a file manager such as Nautilus or Thunar installed (which you normally do), open it and simply press Ctrl-L and enter:
ssh://<liu-id>@ssh.cyd.liu.se:
You can then add a bookmark by dragging the folder named in the top bar to the sidebar on the left for easy access.
You can also mount the remote folder using sshfs:
$ mkdir CYD-remote
$ sshfs <liu-id>@ssh.cyd.liu.se:
On windows you will have to download a program that support the scp protocol, we recommend WinSCP
On OS X you will need sshfs installed. The easiest way to install sshfs is to install Homebrew first. Then do:
$ brew install sshfs
After that you can do:
$ mkdir CYD-remote
$ sshfs <liu-id>@ssh.cyd.liu.se: CYD-remote
CYD-poolens' computers has the Application ThinLinc installed. ThinLinc is required in order to access the IDA systems from a remote location. This enables CYD-poolen users to work with applications that require a responsive graphical user interface remotely against IDA or Lysator systems.
