Enhancement: make it possible to override modified key presses

As a user, it would be nice if I could set a custom key to be output instead of just a modified key press. This would give me more customizability options and maybe help support some other languages better.

For example, shift+ö could output é (similar to Swiss german layout) and then caps locks would be used to get Ö
