Get a service to error alerting/notification/auto-resolution

Over the last month or so I've found services to be down when I go to use them. It'd be nice to be informed of when the service went down so I could go fix it. Better yet, integrate such a service with the cluster in a way that it's able to detect issues and attempt to fix them.
