Command Window Idea #39
Comments
You mean popout new window and type commands there? I did not understand.. |
@FrightRisk Sorry, I also don't really understand what you mean? |
This was cut and pasted from a suggestion by grbba. Haba felt like the debug window was only for debugging. The idea I believe was to have some important commands on a diag window where a user could hit a button instead of having to type commands. For example, you could turn on the to get logs for support without having to type an awkward command and press send. You could get a current reading at the press of a button, turn SLOW mode on and off, etc., Thoughts? |
@FrightRisk, That makes more sense now, thanks for the explanation. This could be added as an extra 'window', like the settings page and locomotives are, or should it be on the main throttle page? |
I think an extra window like settings

@FrightRisk Ok, added to the 1.4.0 milestone |
For the exWebthrottle to have capabilities to enter commands / get the diags / messages back and display makes sense indeed. But instead of having the low level interaction you could ask the question what a UI for that purpose would look like. you could make a sort of admin panel enabling e.g. Diags with a slider button instead of typing a command. You could add an option to save to a file etc ... This would be more in line with the UX of the webthrottle imho. All that makes much more sense here as it is most likely used during operations rather than at setup time ?
