This is a long list of ideas for MIKE IO 1D future development, in no particular order.

If the list gets super long, can consider splitting it into themes.

• Compare results of multiple result files sharing the same network structure and time index
• Export to networkx (static network only)
• Export to networkx with aggregated quantities
• Generate paths along network (e.g. get a list of shortest paths crossing node a, b, and c).
• Truncate chainages at 1mm precision.
• Index gridpoints on reach via chainage (e.g. result_reach['100.123']). Autocompletion on chainages.
• Find nearest location(s) to a specific geometric point for a particular quantity.
• Add integration with modelskill.
• Improve representation of quantity types / units.
• Package wide settings module with sensible 'pretty' defaults.
• Automatic lazy-loading built into result reader with performance tests.
• Slice result files in time on load
• Slice result files spatially on load (e.g. within bounding box or polygon)
• Slice result files based on MIKE+ selection files
• Slice result files based on quantity type
