Inputting UUID as search string is now quite difficult, while it is a frequent thing to do: you need to:
open detailed search;
delete anything in search query;
paste uuid
And even after this, also coming back to simple search is difficult - you need to manually delete the uuid when wanting to do a new, simple search.
Let us solve this: allow inputting uuid in the basic search. If the very strict and thus recognizable uuid structure is recognized, search for it as uuid (not in labels and alternative labels). Alternatively, if computationally better, search in both, because on uuid input, no chance to find any entity label under current settings of the search algorithm.
This brings the basic first search field closer to where the whole search GUI thing goes: simple input, search in everything relevant without user being forced to choose.
