ME Essentia Storage Component lost when shift+rightklicking air with ME Essentia Storage Cell in hand

Affected mods:
thaumic-energistics-extended-life-1.12.2-2.3.3.jar

Issue is repeatable in both SP and MP for 1k cells.
Randomly repeatable for 4, 16, and 64k cells

I did a storage upgrade on my ME storage and wanted to recycle all the previously built 1k ME Essentia Storage Component from the unused cells.
But whenever I Shift+right-click in the air with 1k ME Essentia Storage Cell to remove the component from the cell case and don't have 1k in my inventory, the storage component is lost

Seems to be the case with all 4 cell types by chance - the storage components are lost.
