Minimum requirements

  • There is one must requirement that is Android 4.0 or up.
  • You also need to have the Google Play Services library installed (it's already installed in most android devices). A good way to check this is by seeing if you can run the Google maps app.
  • You will need USB host also if you want to use a 3DR telemetry module directly, without USB you still can use a Bluetooth or TCP/UDP connection.
  • I use a 7 inch tablet for development, so I would suggest you get one that is at least this size.

  • Huawei MedaiPad 7 via OTG cable. NOT rooted, Works perfectly.
  • Huawei Ascend G630 smartphone (original firmware) via bluetooth works perfectly.
  • kobo Arc 10HD - works out of the box with 3DR usb cable
  • Lenovo A8-50 A5500 $139 on Amazon, you will need OTG cable from 3dr for telemetry to work, the blue connection goes toward the tablet
  • Archos 80 Cobalt - need OTG cable and rooting.
  • RCA 7 Voyager - needs OTG cable. Make sure to update Google Play Services
  • LG G Pad Tablet

Compatible only with a TCP connection (without USB)

  • Samsung Galaxy S2 - maybe it work s via USB as well, because the one I tested had a problematic USB port
  • Samsung Galaxy S Advance (I9070), with XBee 2.4GHz & Bluetooth, NO USB support
