Bring existing floor plan

It would be great if we could upload an image of an existing floor plan that we can add measurements to.
Are there any plans to be able to do that?

Excellent idea. I'd love to paste a simplified screenshot from my robot vacuum, for example.

I also proposed just letting us walk around the house and perform automatic mapping. Pick a room, and walk the perimeter. Seems like it would be dead simple, and exactly how other products would handle this.

At the end of the day, relative position is the only thing important. Once the full map is generated, then if we really wanted, we could assign GPS values.

I sadly do not use floorplan anymore and can not test new codes.
Uploading an image would be a good idea, making it so it can be scaled correctly is an other story and would need a little more thoughts to it.

making an automatic mapper on a web application…. Way harder than you might think. Gps positioning indoor is not precise enough when it does work. Managing relative positioning using phone step counter, even if accessible in a web application would not be accurate enough.

point is, i do not plan on making any updates to the project. I would gladly validate some PRs though. If anybody wishes to update the app.
