Mike Wehner reported and Sasha and I confirmed the following behavior:
Select multiple files that are globus accessible and place in data cart.
Select the files in the data cart.
Click on "Globus Download" next to the text: "Collective Services for All Selected Datasets:"
Receive error message: "Error querying for files URL"
This bug was uncovered specifically by searching for "pr" reported at a frequency of "day" from the "piControl" simulation. Playing around, it appears that the problem arises only when data at esgdata.gfdl.noaa.gov is included in the data cart.

I have tried to do the same thing today, and it looks like it's now working correctly. Yesterday three different users confirmed the apparent bug, but today it's not there. Magic!
I believe it is a bug. It looks like CoG/Globus Download does not handle an exception correctly when an external service is not accessible. It should display a message that "this or that service is not accessible, try tomorrow or contact the admin ()..."
