TheiaCon Event Page not indexed by Google #233
Comments
Not sure if it's related or not but in the index file of the TheiaCon 2021 event the date is set to 2021-11-17 which is a future date. @chrisguindon can this have an impact on search results? Other then that, the meta data looks a lot the same as for the CN4F 2021 website. |
When I google for "CN4F 2021" I also do not find the other site |
I would not expect the date to impact the search results. The site is configured to publish content in the future: https://github.com/EclipseFdn/events.eclipse.org/blob/master/config.toml#L10 We use the date on this page: https://events.eclipse.org/2021/ |
Are these pages in your sitemap? |
I use the Google sitemap ping tool to see if that will get the page listed on google search results faster: |
If that does not work, we will need to change our strategy for the date. It's the only thing that I can see that could affect this. |

Expected behavior
One of the top results should be for:

Additional context
Note this may or may not be happening for other events in the events.eclipse.org domain. I have not tested for others.
