Если не зажат Ctrl или Shift, при dragndrop начиная со свободного места между файлами выделение происходит в режиме прямоугольника. Прямоугольник виден, в красном оформлении как hover на контекстнном меню. При зажатом Ctrl или Shift выделение ведет себя, как сейчас - добавление в выделение всех файлов, над которыми проходит мышь.
