I think this would be very interesting. In the stuff I'm doing with Paul W, there's an obvious conflict between a desire to retain pure semantics for some stuff, and the need for stochastic methods for others. I haven't seen your Haskell impl of your last paper @jonnylaw but I have heard about it :)

Good to hear there's interest! @jmtd I've invited you to the repo for the Haskell state space models. It's very much a work in progress at this stage...
