  • I made sure that there are no existing issues - open or closed - to which I could contribute my information.
  • I made sure that there are no existing discussions - open or closed - to which I could contribute my information.

  • This issue contains only one bug.
  • I have read and understood the contribution guidelines.

Affected app version

1.0.0

Affected Android/Custom ROM version

Android 7.1.2 / LineageOS-14.1

Affected device model

Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100

How did you install the app?

F-Droid / IzzyOnDroid

Steps to reproduce the bug

  • Add Image, Video, Audio or something else to the device memory
  • Open the application and go to the "Storage" tab
  • Now click on the category that the file you added to the device in the first step belongs to
  • You will see the message "No items found."

Expected behavior

In the fourth paragraph, instead of the message “No items found.”, files from this category should be displayed.

Actual behavior

Instead of files, the message “No items found.” is displayed on the screen.

Screenshots/Screen recordings

This is exactly what mine did on both files and gallery, originally transfered completed from SMT, don't understand what happened? Picture is almost black even though dark mode is off! Android 13 Motorola Edge 2021 uninstalled file's because it didn't work at all

@VoidWa Hi! How are you adding this file? Any chance you are adding it through adb push?

Hi. No, I don't use adb push. I download files from the internet from a browser or send them from a computer to a smartphone via kde connect. I also tried to take a new photo and video, but I see the same problem.

@VoidWa ok, thanks. I'll investigate it further.

This only happens on Nougat and below versions so I'm not sure if fixing this is worth the effort as it works fine for around 95% of the currently active devices. The storage tab was supposed to be disabled on Nougat and below versions.

I'll leave this open just in case somebody else wants to fix this. Useless link: SimpleMobileTools/Simple-File-Manager#764

@VoidWa You didn't have to close the issue. The bug doesn't stop existing because of what I said. Here are my reasons:

  • Fixing it isn't as simple as flipping a switch.
  • We are running on limited resources so we can't fix every bug and implement every feature right away.
  • This affects only a small number of devices, a number that is getting lower every day so it's not a priority (at least for me).
