Your Expectation

The Extreme Entity Crusher description states that it can be formed with any HV+ tier glass, but I could only get borosilicate glass to work (tested enderio quite clear glass and fused quartz, and blood arsenal bloodstained glass, and GT Tinted industrial glass).

Further, the structure guidelines in JEI say it takes an input bus, but the structure will not form if it has one.

The Reality

Only borosilicate glass + no input bus will form the EEC

edit: IC2 Reinforced glass also works

Your Proposal

Either fix the multiblock so it forms with other types of glass, or if it's supposed to be gated behind borosilicate then fix the item description. Not being able to use my bloodstained glass is messing up the theme of my BM altar room :(

Not sure why an EEC would need an input bus given there's no option to cycle between recipes, but if it's not supposed to work it probably shouldn't be in the JEI preview.

Final Checklist

  • I have searched this issue tracker and there is nothing similar already. Posting on a closed issue saying the bug still exists will prompt us to investigate and reopen it once we confirm your report.
  • I can reproduce this problem consistently by follow the exact steps I described above, or this does not need reproducing, e.g. recipe loophole.
  • I have asked other people and they confirm they also have this problem by follow the exact steps I described above, or this does not need reproducing, e.g. recipe loophole.

Also, possibly a separate issue, but when used in ritual mode the well of suffering must be built on top of the EEC. It will 'fail to connect' if the ritual is built underneath the EEC.

The item description doesn't specify, and the wiki explicitly says both top and bottom work.

Scrolled through the discord help channel and it seems like I'm not the only one who's been confused by this.

Well, IC2 Reinforced Glass also works with the EEC. But in general, the EEC is not the only multi that doesn't accept all glass of the same tier.

ULV Input Bus only is allowed, and it's for backwards compatibility - it used to be where you would place the sword. Structure will form with ULV, but not with higher tiers. However this is pretty confusing so I suggest we drop this compatibility now, it has been a few patches.

I've fixed the wiki with the plain wrong "above or below" about the ritual
I'm testing the PR to drop the input but compat
