Intro music playback is broken #122

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Listen to the intro music from within pingus itself.
2. Notice that it is very choppy/skippy and a lot of tunes seems to be missing.
3. Playback the intro midi file (pingus-1.it) in an external media player, e.g.
totem.
4. Notice that this sounds much better.

I expected that the intro music has a good quality when played from pingus
itself. I noticed that the playback from within pingus is horrible.

I use pingus 0.7.5 (a manual backport) on Debian Squeeze.

The problem is caused by a bug in Mikmod, see:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pingus/+bug/575319

for details.

Thank you very much for this info.
Indeed, removing CVE-2007-6720.patch from the Debian libmikmod source package
and rebuilding the package produces a mikmod library that works.
If I knew how to close this issue, I would do so now... :-)
