$ in prompt response breaks code output

Problem

An output of the $ character makes the text italic. This breaks the formatting for code listings, among other things. See screenshot for result.

Expectation

The code listing should be output in the same way, regardless of whether $ characters appear or not. Ideally, the code block is displayed as a Markdown code listing.

Steps to reproduce

1. Login
2. Select model "meta-llama-3.1-70b-instruct"
3. Use the following prompt to provoke an error
