git pull will fail if htere are conflicts. Not sure what to do about that -- hsouldn't actually be a problem, but if it errors out then the watch job ends and there wil lbe some confused students!

  • get a better error function for git pull in gulpfile.js
  • figure out some kind of notification -- maybe an email to me? -- that signals failure if it happens
