Is your feature request related to a problem?

Hello,
Are premium resources/projects planned? If so, what are the specific requirements to upload one, and will there be a review team (possibly community-led) for testing and reviewing the paid resources? What payment options will the site offer?

Describe the solution you'd like.

Have the ability to sell projects off of the Hangar website (if it is planned)

Describe alternatives you've considered.

No current alternatives on Hangar exist

paid resources (the term premium is actively misleading and bad) are defentetly something we have talked about, so ill keep this issue open, but this is not something that will happen soon, first we gotta get the core platform in good shape.
about payment options, not supporting multiple providers seems dum, so we gotta do multiple most likely.
right now every version is already reviewed (both automated and if needed by our team), we absolutely want to make sure that we never serve malware, this will not change with paid resources, altho they might be hold to a higher standard of course.

Was arguing about this on Spigot and thought I might mention this here as an alternative (or better) solution, depending on your traffic.

You could opt to include advertisements on your website and split that revenue on Project pages, similar to what Modrinth does. If the team doesn't want to put Ads on their website in the first place, that is understandable, and this assumes hangar is popular enough to generate a significant amount of revenue.

Or you could implement both, but this is probably a better option if Hangar eventually becomes popular on the scale of Modrinth or Spigot.

doing revenue type splitting would require us to become a registered company which is generally something we're not inclined to do for various reasons

Well in my opinion you should make this hight priority since all so called "premium" plugins are not migrating to your platform and that makes it so a lot of plugins are missing and you can't become the all-in-one platform since everyone that wants a plugin the authors ask money for they need to divert to for example spigot

Paper (and thus paper plugins) obviously inherit the GPL.

#1430 will be the first step towards this
