In brief, some commands (such as awk and troff) are provided by an external ANSI POSIX subsystem called "APEX". APEX lives in a separate repository, but it is very easy to incorporate it into the filesystem we serve to Harvey clients.

To fetch and build APEX automatically, run the getapex.sh script from the root of the Harvey repository:

OS=linux ARCH=amd64 sh getapex.sh

If APEX binaries are present, they will be bound into /bin by /usr/harvey/lib/profile at login.
