At the moment displaying audit messages depends on logging mechanism "file", but in bigger environments you typically want to forward log messages to a central system so you have the option to read the file again and forward the log messages or simply use syslog and configure it to write a local file and forward the messages. If I do the later I would have the local file but the log messages are not displayed.

Hm? Please give an detailed example or rephrase that. I don't quite understand what you're asking for exactly. What should the module do?

Or do I understand it correctly and you want the module to write the human readable file and use whatever other backend is configured?

I just want to be able to configure a file with the audit messages to display also if I use syslog as logging mechanism.

Reason for this is that I want to use syslog to forward the messages and write the local file instead of using file only.
