I'd love to have CadHub being able to read my Github repo and display the designs with parameters. That would allow me to share what I've created more broadly (and let my family customize their choices online 😅 ) I'm about to migrate from OpenSCAD to OpenCascade, but haven't done the leap yet. As far as I can see, it is the most popular CAD language so maybe start supporting OpenSCAD would attract more people. CadHub could be a nice bridge for helping people move to another kernel after we quickly hit OpenSCAD limitations. For the editor, I particularly don't see too much value in investing in it. It lowers the entry barrier but if you have a 3D printer or a CNC you already have a bunch of weird stuff installed in your computer, so it's not that people are coming to CadHub so they don't need to install things locally 🤔 (maybe). Now, a question: what is your vision for CadHub? What do you intend it to be? BTW, awesome innitiative 🙇 ! |

@ruliana would you like to have a commit in the Cadhub git history and have you gravatar listed with contributers? By adding No pressure though, as it assume you're somewhat familiar with react, and what not. If you want to have a crack, you would need to add some code below line |

Very glad to see support for the Customizer on the roadmap --- that's huge, and ideally the JSON file which it makes would be something which could be pushed up to GitHub in addition to being saved along w/ the model itself. It would be awesome to have support for Blockly as BlockSCAD does. If functionality extensions are on the table, I'd dearly love to see an ability to have more control over echoing into the Log --- ideally a way to specify a file extension (say a safe set: .txt, .log, .csv, .nc) and when writing out, omitting "ECHO: " and getting only what was intentionally sent --- this would allow folks to do B.O.M.s, and to write out G-Code files for actually making stuff (as opposed to exporting an STL and relying on a 3rd party CAM tool). |

@Irev-Dev loving cadhub and interested in contributing some front end work! (especially improving the editor experience) Noticed that there's a link to Figma mocks in the roadmap, but they're quite different than what's currently deployed - are they still close to the long term vision for the UI? |

Hey @toddmedema, that's awesome. The figma is current yes. The main things that are missing are associated with multi-file editing atm, and probably a number of tweaks. You should be able to comment directly on figma? if there any thing there that's different that you want to implement. |

Thanks! Left a few comments on it with specific questions. More generally, I find the number of toolbars in the Editor a bit confusing (for example, there are 4 settings buttons, 2 places to save and 2 "file" menus). A OpenSCAD tool compositionally idiomatic library manager that facilitates the discovery & versioning. A collection of useful compositional syntax tools & methods. Then create named methods for moving those objects or keeping them in a shared database. I'm still figuring out exactly how to build this, but a method/interface for browing or "summoning" the syntax, basically a github repo. (thinking of something that could be locally hosted, multi-platform, electron or something like that - designed to be embeddable inside any scad compatible app - including but not exclusively to cadhub) where people can submit their own project and this will perhaps index them. |

The reason I mention industry is because professional adoption is a really good signal for how good the tooling is for CodeCAD, but the concept also needs to be promoted to drive adoption and the community help with that too. I guess in a nutshell I want to focus on tooling and building a community.
