Barred grid crosswords

Hi! I'm developing a crossword generator. Recently, I switched to react-crossword as my front-end. Can you think of any way on how to create a barred grid using this package?

Something like this:

That is such a different presentation that I suspect you will need a completely different component. I have no plans to implement any other crossword styles in the react-crossword component.
