Device disconnects are not reported to caller

During an RPC execution if device gets disconnected it it not reported to the caller. Any unexpected errors should be reported.
Though there are subroutiones to identify RPC errors there is no subroutine which provides information on the connection errors.

Either errors should be thrown or there should be a method to check for connection errors.
