This repository contains contains the original source code of the BSTAC software. It was developed by Prof. Sammartano et al. at the University of Messina between the 70s and 90s. Written in QBASIC V4.5 (Quick Basic) it allows the optimization of stability constants from potentiometric titration data.
The original source code has been re-visioned to allow the compatibility with modern systems and binaries for those are compiled through GitHub Actions and are downloadable from the Release page.
Information regarding the formalism and the algorithm inner workings is available in the last article produced by the group, hosted in this repository as well for preservation.
Examples of input files and instructions to compile the input files are available in the Example folder.
Some functionalities are only partially working due to the technical debt of the original code base, it is our aim to reintegrate these as soon as possible. In particular:
- Graphical output is only partially working due to incompatible and obsolete video modes.
