i also installed hitomi downloader on windows 11 supernova vm, so i had a backup of older version hitomi_dowloader_GUI.... replaced the problematic newer hitomi_downloader_GUI with the older version and it solved the issue for me... older version is 3.8 d |

@KurtBestor i think you can be relieved now as the problem is not with the app but rather the windows version requirement... From v4.0, hitomi downloader might require win 10 or later as it seems like v3.8d is the last supported version for win 8.1 and win 7. i can confirm this as i just tested it myself... i was able to install the v4.0 on win 11 supernova but on win 8.1 the update fails.... i hope the older version will work for as long as possible...i dont need new features but hopefully downloads will continue to work for as long as possible...If it fails somehow, i will launch vm and download the videos using the latest version of hitomi as my win 11 vm will be having the latest version of hitomi downloader... Thanks |

@KurtBestor Add the info on home page so new users who are on win 8.1/7 will be aware of the issue... its just a suggestion |
