Ape Escape [SCUS94423] crashes and gives error (C1-2858-3) after the screen stating Dualshock Analog is required

Using GUI on Windows, EBOOT.PBP method. I have tried both PSVIMG (transfer over CMA) and PBP (with NoPspEmuDrm) formats, as well as both LibCrypt methods. I have also tried booting using Adrenaline. The result is the same no matter what - the game gives me a prolonged black screen after the Dualshock required screen, before throwing an error (C1-2858-3)

Very late, but pop-fe should make a working eboot, although you'll only be able to use it on Adrenaline/ARK-X.
