Hello,
HA turns the logos of the inactive containers into gray-scaled. Unfortunately, the current black&white logo does not makes any change. It is impossible to decide on the addons overview page that is it running or not. It requires an additional step to open the addon to check it's status.

I recommend to add a colorful background or colorize somehow the current black letters:

Great effort on the logo design! However, the colors might need adjustment for better visibility against a dark mode/black background. Additionally, considering heating systems uses a heat pump, maybe we could explore elements that better represent that rather than a flame in the logo design.

oookay I'm in to let the gas flame away but....
I have some doubts about heat pumps:

  • in my gas powered system not the heatpump is the primary unit what I imagine at first thought.
  • the representation of a heat pump with a complex exterior is a really hard stuff in a purified icon.
I would rather recommend to play with the heat&cold and home/HA icon and/or mixing with the original ebusd icon (which is originally named as "heatpump icon") - I have no imagination yet, but we willl see...

About the background: I would recommend it to be white. The corners can be rounded with transparency as the original has it. The reason is that the default Lovelace UI is white. With this transparent 'Frame' on white bg. it can give good user experience on customized dark background too. The images above are just the first scratches.

Additionally, If we leave the representation of the characters (ebusd) we can earn additional space to larger graphics
@LukasGrebe what is your opinion?

fun :D are these "just" ai generated?

how about combining the ebusd.eu logo with the home-assistant.io logo

House with squiggles inside + house with network like connections inside
#81 (comment) is close.
try it on a small icon scale an see if the details are still ok if its shrunk down.

#81 (comment) is similar and so is the first one #81 (comment)

maybe replace of the blue flame with the homeassistant logo and drop some details so it looks ok at like 50px ?

how about a horizontal wire that has the text ebusd inside or below it, the wire then bends up with a plug at the end and "plugs into" the homeassistant logo from the bottom

I've added 128x128 as the guide suggest it:
291240361-d1f5a4c1-df94-4a2d-bd99-266be20c000d_128
it seems quite good. also on 50x50 scale:
291240361-d1f5a4c1-df94-4a2d-bd99-266be20c000d_50

maybe replace of the blue flame with the homeassistant logo

Here is the 128x128 as well:

Remember, we are not creating a logo for the original service as it already has one. We are designing a colorful logo for the add-on to help distinguish its status: active (colorful) or inactive (greyscale).
Home Assistant consistently identifies add-ons with parallel names as well.

So yes: #81 (comment) merge the main motives for both logos without copying them. - but anyways, I'm not an UI (moreover Logo) designer. :D

@cociweb What about just tinting the background of the logo the same red color that https://ebusd.eu/ uses?

As suggested in #81

not sure how to adress the version since we're closely following ebusd
