In a dedicated library for Internet videos, a YouTube Channel is entered as a "show", and has three "seasons", A B and C. The seasons are not numbered in the metadata, but are manually sorted by sort name. I have 0 unwatched videos in A, 5 in B, and 0 in C. The browser and mobile apps display this correctly, but the Android TV app displays all three "seasons" as having 5 unwatched, regardless of how many they individually have.
It does not seem to do this with any shows and seasons that have proper season numbers in their metadata. It hasn't done this with my normal TV show library either.
It didn't always do this, I noticed a few versions back it happened suddenly. I don't remember which version was the last that worked correctly, but it was maybe 3 or 4 app updates ago, maybe more. I keep my server relatively updated but it seems unrelated to the bug in the Android TV app.
Info:
Emby for Android TV: as of writing, version 2.1.14g (May 28 2024)
TV: Hisense H8G with Android TV
Play Store version: 41.2.17-23 [8] [PR] 636994482
Android System WebView: version 125.0.6422.165 (Jun 4 2024)
Android TV Core Services: version 6.7.1-632378526-f (May 17 2024)
I've tried:
Clearing cache
Uninstalling/reinstalling the Emby app
Updating the Emby app
Updating my server
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
The web app displays everything properly, showing the "unread" icons only on the correct "seasons" with the correct number of unwatched videos.
On the TV, it still shows the same number unread across all of them, regardless of which ones actually have unread episodes.
Say I have a YouTube library and each "season" is a different channel. If I have an unwatched video on the second channel, the TV will display "1" across all of them, whereas the web app only shows a 1 on the second channel like it's supposed to.
This only seems to happen on libraries where the seasons and episodes aren't numerically sorted-- they're manually sorted alphabetically using the "sort name" field.
