Linux with java 8 - hanging during startup when loading stochchar #110

Hi all,

As recommended, I changed my system's java version from java 20 to java 8 to avoid the stackoverflow error. However, now startup hangs when it tries loading the stochchar module. No error appears in the terminal or shell. Increasing the memory limit or other suggestions did not help.

I have the same issue. I have tried with Java 17, and Mesquite kept giving error messages. Then using Java 8, there are no error messages as the software just freeze forever.
