Can not read vault from file #56
Comments
I have the same problem. I have also tried older ldb files (from 2021). |
did you resolve this problem? |
I have same problem ,too. Database backup | ❌ Can not read vault from file I try all my lbd file, all failed. |
Yes. Same issue here.
|
Same issue. On Mac OS Firefox. Seems idb/.sqlite files are the data storage for Extensions? Can't find any with a similar naming convention. Will this tool work on Firefox extensions? |
i'm having the same issue. unfortunately i'm not able to reach the creator of the vault decryptor, nor metamask support. |
Try uploading the Tested on Windows 10 Pro Build 19045 with Metamask 11.16.7. |
Same problem here, I believe we should somehow convert the .ldb file into plaintext first |
Problem same here, I have uploaded the files to metamask and that repaired it, but I don't understand why vault-decryptor doesn't read them without repairing them first |
can you elaborate? Where did you upload the files to metamask to repair it? Does this vault decrypter even work at all? All of my multiple log files have the same issue Database backup | ❌ Can not read vault from file. Is there no known solution to this problem? |
I have only moved the vault files to metamask, I mean where the vault files are saved in a clean install, then restart the browser, open metamask again and apparently metamask repairs them |
So if I find the MetaMask vault files and copy them and then paste them into metamask after clean install? Can you tell me location of files?

Is it just the 00005 LDB file I need, or all the files in the folder?

I think I’m out of luck anyways because I was silly enough to click “repair” and then even log into a different wallet on the new install (overwriting the data). Would system restore help me in this case? Would those files revert to an earlier state?

I am trying to decrypt a vault however, when I follow the instructions the interface gives me the error "Can not read vault from file" (I carefully passed the right file
000005.ldb
).I also tried the manual method however, when I open the
000005.ldb
file with VS Code I am getting some gibberish. There must be an encoding issue.Anyone help ?
