Please note that this is a pre-release/Beta release so the theme hasn't been fully bug checked. I've done what I can but there are some undiscovered bugs and known issues. These issues are noted in the changelog.

Please report any bugs found by making an issue on the Issue Tracker or reporting in the #report-issues channel in our Discord Server! We cannot fix bugs that aren't reported!

Welcome to Project XX STARLiGHT! It's been a while now, hasn't it? I apologize for the extremely long wait for a new release. Not to make excuses but things haven't exactly been well for me for quite a bit now. Things aren't quite how I'd like but it's better enough where I can begin working on the theme more actively once again.

Moving forward, we will be referring to the theme as such to further it from DDR. There is still an option to change back to the DDR branding if you would like but from now on, the theme will default to its new branding.
If you're wondering why we're making this change so late, it's simply due to a change of mindset in the team. We've decided that it's a bit of a silly idea to keep the theme so locked down due to wanting the theme to be as close to the DDR experience as possible. This idea causeed some backlash and we apologize for that.

Please understand that Public usage is still not allowed but this is only due to us still being in the process of updating assets to ensure that anything mentioning DDR is removed. Public usage will be allowed once this transition is finished.

So, what's next for the theme? Obviously, we will be working towards a proper release in the coming months. I apologize that we won't be able to do this sooner but things are still rather hectic for me and I'm not quite motivated to work on StepMania/Outfox theming as I used to be. If you're able to donate code to help with the process, it would be much appreciated.
We are also in the process of updating the STARLiGHT NEXXT noteskin to add more variations and fix some nitpicks and various issues with it.

Changelog:

Overall changes:

• Theme will now be named "Project XX STARLiGHT" to move in line with future plans.
• Theme has been updated and tested against Outfox Alpha V.
• General backend changes for code optimization.
• Various screen transition fixes.

Gameplay Changes:

• Added regular Player Options screen as an alternative to the previous OptionsList. This can be changed in the Customization Screen under Gameplay Options.
• Added Judgment and Combo graphic options.
• Added Perspective options to Options List.
• Added Lua Timing Windows.
• Added Risky+ Life Option. (Perfect Attack)
• Added Fail Type to Player Options. (This will always overwrite settings in the service options. This will be disabled when running Pay Mode on proper release.)

• Open the ends of the Nav Box at the bottom of screens.
• Add "FROM: " text to the group label on Default Music Wheel when using Title Sort.
• Remove a screen from the attract cycle temporarily due to baked in text.
• Add banner image to the textbox on Default Music Wheel.

Misc. Changes:

• Added Jukebox.
• Begin converting various baked text to BitmapText actors to help with translations.

Bug Fixes:

• Fix Life option for later Alpha 4 and Alpha V.
• Fix Jacket issues between .sm and .ssc files.
• Fix Noteskins not being set properly.
• Fix handling of the Info Panel on Music Select.
• Danger graphics on gameplay now respect Outfox's settings.
• Fix FC Splash for Doubles.
• Group Jacket loader now looks for images matching the group folder's name.

Known Issues:

• Attempting to open the options screen from Mode Select without starting a proper game causes Outfox Alpha V to crash. I have no idea why but it just does. Using the Operator Button works properly but will join both players. Back out of the gameplay cycle to return to a proper Player state.
• Extreme lag on Music Select due to the nature of the built in music wheel. This will be fixed with lua music wheels at some point.
