We already have Solr installed on our server (version 7) but we don't have a good configuration for it. The results are worse, I think, than they are with the default WordPress search.

We should either:

  1. Figure out how to configure Solr so it doesn't suck, or
  2. Look into Elasticsearch

Whatever we would do here would also deal with #45.

Search works quite well with ElasticPress, and using WP_Query with ElasticPress also fixes our issues with post picking for newsletters and related content on posts.
