It is mentioned explicitly that this is still a beta, but which part of this plugin is beta?

It seems to work fine for our use-cases.

Additionally, it would be of interest, if this project will be maintained. Because as i see it, the chrome apps won't be available in the future...

Indeed!

@agrieve could you shed some light on this?

There's basically no one working on this project anymore, so it would be fair to say that it's unmaintained. That said, I have been still trying to accept pull requests and re-publishing plugins when they come in.

If anyone wants to take ownership of some of these plugins, I'd be happy to update the READMEs to point to new owners.

@agrieve

Thanks for your reply!

Do you think it would be better to start using a more generic solution (for instance: https://github.com/blocshop/sockets-for-cordova). If the goal is to keep using raw TCP socket connections for Android and iOS apps?

Since chrome apps are being outphased anyway and there is currently no easy way (that I know of) which allows raw TCP sockets to be created from within a browser (although the HTML5 socket API is already being developed https://www.w3.org/TR/tcp-udp-sockets/).

Do you have any thoughts on this?
