Clicking on group link from browser bookmark bar to view videos show infinite loading icon if the youtube left side menu is closed/minimized

I am using the latest Google Chrome browser in Windows 11 with the PocketTube extension

On my main screen

• I have to make sure the youtube sidebar menu is not closed/minimized when opening pocket tube and make sure the menu is always open as otherwise I get an infinite loading icon when clicking on my PocketTube group bookmark link in my bookmark bat.
  I assume I get the issue because I put my pockettube group link as a Chrome bookmark bar shortcut. So when I initiate pockettube the side menu is minimized where as I assume others click on it from the youtube left sidebar itself which requires the sidebar to be open.

I also have a 17" secondary screen in portrait mode (1080 X 1920) with my browser in the bottom half

I have a shortcut to my Pockettube group on my booksmarks bar. If you have 1080 horizontal pixels then youtube makes the youtube sidebar floating e.g. it disappears if you do not have it in focus.

When I click on the shortcut on my bookmark bar group for my PocketTube group the circle loading icon is infinite and just keeps on spinning. This is because PocketTube doesn't work with the sidebar hidden/closed.

As a workaround for my secondary screen.

• I have to reduce the text size so that my YouTube left side menu is not automatically minimized when I open Pockettube where my X screen pixels is 1080 (vertical screen)
• I have to move the window to my main screen and set my side menu to not minimized. Maximize the window. Refresh the page and click on the bookmark bar group shortcut I want to view again to see the videos. Then Move the window back to its original position

When moving the window back to the 1080 X 1920 screen the modal pocket tube window is also not over the standard youtube home screen videos.

I can't reproduce it. Are you using other extensions? Try to disable its, because even Deck and Groups have a different background than the default YouTube dark theme. It seems you have a conflict with some extensions and it's led to an issue with position and the background.

I disabled my extensions including the one that changed the background colour.

The problem still occurs and I noticed it occurs on my main screen as well and that the issue is only occurs if the youtube side bar menu is folded or minimized.

I have updated my original description to reflect the issue is related to the youtube left sidebar being closed and not open.

Also take note that

• After opening pockettube group when you afterwards close the youtube sidebar left menu then it shows a gap where the menu was.
• If you then open the left youtube side bar menu again, the pocketube modal window disappears

It's expected behavior, we're not supporting dynamic change youtube sidebar left menu

Thank you for sharing, will add it to the backlog to improve. Currently, the left sidebar is required for working extension.
