Is would be a GREAT plus to have a RESTful APIs component that allows authenticated users to remotely manage a server instance.

This involves:

strong encryption everywhere
thinking about how an user can be authenticated (public key given to the application?)
writing a console application to use those APIs

A less secure but maybe easier alternative is building an administration panel.
I dislike the above idea....
