I suggest to rename this repository to VMEC, since PARVMEC should be considered the main VMEC implementation.
Now would be the right time to rename it, since not many people depend on this particular codebase yet.

I would have preferred VMEC but that repo name was already taken under the ORNL-Fusion organization.

Taken by who? If there is a repo under ORNL-fusion that’s not actual vmec that is called vmec IT needs to be renamed
