iOS recorder stops when in background

As the title implies the recording on iOS stops if the application goes into the background. The timer also seems to stop. Attached are the timestamps from data recorded from the iOS recorder and from the dashboard application as reference (60 hz sampling rate for both IMU and 50 hz pressure, temperature to stress test). Dashboard data seems ok.
